Hive Disability Support came about from a desire to make a real difference in people’s lives. I wanted to create a service that truly supported individuals in reaching their full potential, providing them with the care, guidance, and opportunities they deserve. It was clear to me that helping others wasn’t just about meeting basic needs—it was about fostering growth, encouraging independence, and ensuring that everyone has the chance to thrive.

Around the same time, I found myself captivated by a new hobby, building a beehive at home with my parents. I became fascinated with bees, their lifecycle, their individual roles, and how they work together in harmony to keep the hive thriving. Every bee plays a crucial part, and their teamwork is essential to the success of the hive.

One day, while chatting with my dad, he casually suggested, “Why don’t you call your business Hive?” As we talked more, we realised just how fitting the name was. Like bees, each member of the team at Hive Disability Support has a unique role, but we all come together to achieve one shared goal: supporting individuals to reach their goals and improve their quality of life.

Just as bees are essential to the health of the environment, we work in collaboration with other “bees” in our hive, therapists, families, and carers, to provide the same opportunities for growth and success to the people we support. It’s the collective effort, like in a beehive, that truly makes a difference in the lives of our participants.
